Oil & Gas Antifoam and Defoamer | Beta Pramesti Asia

BETAFLOW oil and gas antifoam for glycol, amine, production, and separation. Compare fluids, dosage, injection, packaging, supply, and programme cost.

Oil & Gas Antifoam and Defoamer | Beta Pramesti Asia

Oil and gas antifoam prevents foam from forming in production processes, while a defoamer knocks down foam that already exists. PT Beta Pramesti Asia supplies BETAFLOW AF 901 for gas-related foam in glycol or amine systems and BETAFLOW 8080 Series for oil-production applications; selection depends on the process fluid, operating conditions, and injection method.

A product should be trialled in the actual fluid because foam can be driven by entrained gas, contamination, surfactants, solids, shear, temperature, or pressure. The approved dose must use the current product data, a calibrated feed rate, and an operating result—not a copied ppm value from another system.

Which BETAFLOW antifoam matches the application?

BETAFLOW AF 901 and BETAFLOW 8080 Series serve different operating cases. Compare the fluid phase, foam source, operating envelope, and addition method before selecting one for a plant trial.

ProductPublished applicationPublished physical dataDose and addition basis
BETAFLOW AF 901Gas-related foam in glycol or amine systemsWhite liquid; pH 7–9; dispersed in waterInject directly into the glycol or amine system; establish the dose from the actual foam condition
BETAFLOW 8080 SeriesOil production, including oil/gas separation, drilling, and cementingSilicone-based viscous liquid; specific gravity 0.90–1.20 at 25°C; dispersible in waterPublished starting range: 0.3–3 ppm as antifoam and 3–6 ppm as defoamer; apply neat, in a light solvent, or dispersed in water as approved

Both series are listed in 200-litre drums. Confirm the current Technical Data Sheet, Safety Data Sheet, product compatibility, pack availability, and commercial specification in the quotation before use.

What data selects an industrial antifoam or defoamer?

The useful selection data describe the foam and the process at the same time. A sample that collapses foam in a beaker may still fail if the plant injection point, mixing, residence time, temperature, or contaminant load is different.

How should an antifoam trial be dosed and accepted?

Start with a controlled baseline and one product variable at a time. BETAFLOW 8080’s published range is a trial input, not permission to dose every system at the same setpoint.

  1. Record the normal and upset foam condition before adding chemical.
  2. Confirm product identity, dilution basis, compatibility, and the approved injection point.
  3. Establish a controlled starting dose within the current product recommendation.
  4. Calibrate the chemical dosing pump at operating backpressure and record tank consumption.
  5. Trend foam response, re-formation, separation, downstream quality, and any adverse effect.
  6. Approve the dose range, alarm trigger, operator response, and review frequency in the site procedure.

Use eye and skin protection, follow the current SDS, and store the product in a cool, dry place. Spill response, dilution, solvent use, and disposal must follow the site procedure and current product documents.

How should oil and gas antifoam cost be compared?

Compare oil and gas antifoam cost on the same fluid, foam condition, operating period, and acceptance target. Drum price does not reveal programme cost because products can differ in trialled dose, dilution needs, feed frequency, pump requirements, and their effect on oil separation, carryover, and downstream quality.

Comparison basisData to requestResult to calculate
Product and applicationProduct series, fluid, antifoam or defoamer duty, trialled dose, and injection pointProduct demand per day or operating period
Supply and handlingDelivered price, pack, monthly demand, solvent or dilution water, storage, and unloading facilitiesMaterial and handling cost at the same site
Equipment and verificationPump range, calibration, backpressure, interlock, sampling, and operator timeIncluded implementation and monitoring cost
Acceptance criteriaFoam height, carryover, separation, downstream quality, product use, and side effectsProgramme cost for a comparable operating result

Require the quotation to state its assumptions and trial boundaries. If two candidates use different doses or acceptance criteria, normalise them to the same operating period and result before selecting the lower-cost programme.

Industrial antifoam FAQs

What is the difference between an antifoam and a defoamer?

An antifoam is applied to prevent or limit foam formation; a defoamer is used to collapse foam already present. One product may support both duties at different dose ranges, but the site trial must verify the result in the actual fluid.

Can the same antifoam dose be copied to another unit?

No. Fluid composition, contamination, gas rate, temperature, pressure, mixing, injection point, and dilution can change performance. Reconfirm the product and dose whenever the process or foam source changes.

What is needed for an antifoam quotation?

Send the process-fluid description, foam location and symptoms, operating temperature and pressure, flow, current chemical and dose, injection equipment, monthly demand, packaging, delivery point, and trial objective through the Beta Pramesti contact page.
