Custom PAC for industrial water and wastewater, qualified through grade specifications, jar tests, plant trials, cost per m3, sludge, and change control.
Custom PAC is a Poly Aluminium Chloride grade qualified for a defined water and separation process. “Custom” does not prove performance: the buyer should lock the product specification, run side-by-side jar tests, confirm active dose and pH, and then verify treated water, sludge, consumption, and cost in a controlled plant trial.
PT Beta Pramesti Asia, through beta.co.id, supplies liquid and powder PAC and supports coagulant evaluation for industrial water and wastewater treatment in Indonesia. The final product, dose, and acceptance limits must follow actual samples, batch documents, equipment, and facility targets.

When is a custom PAC worth evaluating?
A custom PAC belongs on the shortlist when influent variation or process limits are not met consistently by the approved grade. Relevant changes include turbidity, colour, organic matter, TSS, pH and alkalinity, temperature, floc character, hydraulic loading, or sludge-handling capacity.
Do not try to customise away a mechanical fault. Check rapid mixing, flocculation time, dosing pump, injection location, clarifier or DAF, filters, recycle, and sludge removal before concluding that a new grade is required.

Which specifications should be fixed before the trial?
Write the grade and acceptance limits into the purchase specification. Indonesia’s SNI 3822:2018 for Polyaluminium Chloride is listed as current and covers quality requirements and test methods for liquid and solid PAC in stated uses. A product standard does not set the dose for a particular plant, so the contract specification and application test remain necessary.

Do not compare price per kilogram without normalisation. Active Al₂O₃ dose (mg/L) = product dose (mg/L) × Al₂O₃ mass fraction. This puts active content on one basis but does not prove that basicity, speciation, impurities, or process response are equivalent.
How should jar testing and the plant trial be run?
Use representative influent and the difficult conditions that actually occur. Compare a blank, current product, and candidates under the same mixing procedure. Record product and active dose, pH, alkalinity, turbidity/TSS, colour or another target, floc size and strength, settling or flotation, and sludge volume.
Start the plant trial only when material and equipment are ready. Change one primary variable at a time, calibrate the pump at operating backpressure, and record batch, dose, flow, pH, influent/effluent quality, carryover, sludge blanket, supporting chemicals, and unit disturbances. Agree the duration and acceptance criteria before starting.

Custom PAC FAQs
Does a custom PAC always use a lower dose?
No. Product or active dose can be lower, equal, or higher depending on the water, grade, pH/alkalinity, mixing, and target. The useful comparison is total cost per cubic metre meeting every limit, not the lowest dose.
Is a jar-test result enough to change product?
Not yet. A jar test screens candidates and dose range. The plant trial still has to prove feed accuracy, mixing, floc separation, stability during influent change, sludge production, safety, and cost.
